PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND CONSULTING EXPERTISE

Tom O'Rourke is founder and CEO of Connolly Clarke, LLC.  Tom designs and leads organizational consulting projects and teams focused on strategy and structure, HR transformation, change management, M&A, leadership development, workforce planning, talent management, organizational design, employee retention, competency models, HR metrics, high performance cultures, and building client consulting capability – serving companies of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 15.  In his work, he has partnered with and coached Boards, CXO suites, and led project teams by taking a "hands-on" approach to driving successful business transformation, strategic planning, large scale organizational and technology change, HR optimization, business integration, and building client’s internal consulting capabilities at some of the world’s leading organizations.

Prior to launching Connolly Clarke in 2010, Tom was a Principal at Baker Tilly – where he started and led the Human Capital Services practice for the firm. Before joining Baker Tilly, Tom was a Partner at one of the world’s largest business consulting firms (Accenture) where he was a member of the North American HR Transformation leadership team and leader of the North American HR Transformation practice for the Resources Operating Group.  Most recently, Tom led the Human Capital Services practice at RSM US, LLP

Tom is not a “career consultant”.  He has worked in internal roles for both a Fortune 15 petrochemical company as well as a Global 2000 energy services provider.  The combination of his industry and consulting experience has allowed him to develop a unique appreciation for the day-to-day challenges of the HR and Organizational Development professional and the internal client demands that go with them.

Tom brings an experience-based, metrics/methodology-driven, and results-oriented approach to human capital and organizational change.  Additionally, as a co-author of three books on business ethics, Tom brings a highly principled and values-driven standard to his consulting work and in partnering with clients . . . and that is what his clients appreciate about him.
